 Phnom Penh > Kampong Chhnang > Battambang > Siemreap-Angkor

Day 1: Phnom Penh, Arrival


Arrival in Phnom Penh airport welcomed and transfer by our guide to your hotel.

  • Afternoon, visit the Central Market in its popular quarter: some styles of architecture built in the colonial era with remarkable dome and its symmetrical plan in which there’re all kinds of shops: handicrafts, clothes in several ways, tropical fruits, foods, fish market … etc.
  • Walk around the Quays Sisowath next to the confluence of 4 Faces River which promoted the installation of the capital.
  • Dinner at local restaurant (with your own account).
Day 2: Phnom Penh

  • In the morning, Trishaw-ride to the royal palace. Visit the throne Hall with the dress code, great dignity stylized in a lively atmosphere. Continues at the Silver Pagoda, rich in precious stones and royal treasury. It is impressive with its statue of 90 Kg golden Buddha, its 5000 paving tiles silver and many brilliant arts, inlaid with diamonds, rubies, jades etc.
  • Discover the national museum, one of famous Fine Arts galleries with many original statues of polytheism between Hinduism and Buddhism.
  • Lunch in local restaurant (with your own account)
  • Visit NGO school of PSE (Pour un Sourire d’Enfant), French non-profit organization dedicated to provide food, medical care, general education and vocational training to maltreated, destitute and uneducated children in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville.
  • After noon, visit Toul Tumpoung market that is historically called as Russian market.
  • Rest in the hotel.

Day 3: Phnom Penh – Kampongchhnang

  • Departure in the morning with Suitcases to Kampong Chhnang Province. Climb to Udong Hill, the seventeenth century capital of Cambodia. Some Buddhist stupas of Khmer Kings stand up on the top from where impress the panorama view over the landscape.

  • Lunch by own account.

  • Discovery of the port which has kept the name of the town which means < Pottery pier>. Then Observation of the ancient craft: making pans, pots, vases water, ovens and jugs.
  • Nuit in Sovannaphum hotel

Day 4: Kampongchhnang – Battambang

  • Drive to Battambang, important town known as the rice bowl of Cambodia province.

  • Afternoon, enjoy in Bamboo train ride, one of the world’s all-time classic rail journeys, local rail due to the initiative of farmers to move their goods to the market in Battambang town.

  • Visit Phare Ponleu Selpak, a non-profit Cambodian association working with vulnerable children, young adults and their families through 3 interweaving fields of intervention: Arts schools, Social support and Educational programs.
  • Visit one of the most stylistic pagodas in ancient architecture.
  • Overnight at the hotel

Day 5: Battambang / Cooking class

  • Discovery in the Battambang city, curator of old houses in different styles left since the guardianship period of Siam and the French protectorate. Visit monks procession on the street of the neighborhood.

  • Meeting with cooking class’s teacher who brings you to the spice market, shopping for the cooking class, then learn how to cook and have lunch what you cooked.

  • Nap in hotel
  • Bicycle ride along river to Wat Samrong, Buddhist pagoda in its typical monastery style.

Day 6: Battambang – Siemreap

  • Boarding in boat through Sangker River and Tonle Sap Lake to Siemreap.

  • Observation of daily activities: Houses on stilt and floating on bamboo rafts which seasonally follow in different places the level of water; students rowed their boats to the lake and floating school; ambulant market moves to serve their buyers in each floating hut…

  • Crossing by the flooded brush and landed in the village of Méchrey.
  • Overnight and dinner at your hotel.

Day 7: Pre rup – Kbal Spean – Banteay Srei – Village of Phnom Bok

  • First discovery in Angkor Archaeological Park, beginning to visit Pre Rup temple, Pyramid of 3 levels in the center of the ancient royal city at the tenth century. It has five towers staggered representing Mount Meru, the abode of the Hindu Gods.

  • Enjoy a walk on the track partially shaded to the top of the sacred mountain, Kbal Spean discovered in 1969; the holy water flowing from the waterfall on the bas-reliefs of thousand Linga blessed by the sculptures hallowed “Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma” comes down to power the hydraulic system of the plain of Angkor.

  • Lunch in the Park
  • At the afternoon will be devoted to charming edifice of Banteay Srei, Hindu temple pink sandstone dated to the century. With its excellence from a nearby ornamental technical perfection, it is appreciated as the jewel of Khmer art.
  • Visit the village of Phnom Bok, tasting coconut or palm juice.
  • Overnight at the hotel and dinner at local restaurant.

Day 8: Angkor Wat – village of Krabei Real

  • Admiration of the colossal temple of Angkor Wat, a work of power. Its layout perfectly stated and balanced harmony of its proportions, Angkor Wat should be placed at the pinnacle of Khmer Art.

  • Lunch at the restaurant in town and Rest at the hotel.
  • Pleasure on Bicycles to Krabei Real village: Passage through the village populated by peasants working for vegetable Plantation.
  • Visit the association Lbok Kator, regeneration of the Khmer martial art extracted from reliefs of Angkor.
  • Dinner- Show at Apsara Performance.

Day 9: Angkor Thom – Ta Prohm

  • Early departure in Moto-remork (Tuktuk) to explore the hydraulic city of Angkor Thom, the administrative headquarters of the Royal triad, the famous founder King Jayavarman and his co-founders, Queen Jayarajadevi and Indradevi.

  • The south gate surmounted by four faces of benevolent accessible to public by the magnificent bridge escorted by 54 gigantic defenders on each side.
  • Bayon, the Mahayana pantheon whose towers smiling faces are considered emanations of compassionate king deified as a future Bodhisattva.
  • Baphuon, massive monumental restored until the end of 2011 as the gift of France, mountain temple built around 1060 where there was a Linga of Shiva associated with the cult of the God-King: Here lived “The Ego Subtle and invisible” the sovereign.
  • Enjoy a walk to visit all of the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terrace and the Naraka (leper king of historical confusion).
  • Continue to the backdoor of Ta Prohm, the Royal Monastery of the XII th century allowed to plant domination; spectacular roots fake cheese that sit on the dismal galleries are moved to the picturesque taste.
  • The shower at the hotel and transfer to airport.

Day 10: Phnom Kulen

  • Departure to Phonm Kulen, the sacred mountain where the first Capital of Angkor builder is found with 16 temples of ninth century.

  • Discover the bas-reliefs in the river water, trekking and Bath in the water fall.
  • Return and relax in your hotel.
